"You don't have to be handicapped to be different. Everybody is different. Learn to respect the differences in other people."

Kim Peek (the real Rain Man)
“The curious paradox is that when I accept myself as I am, then I can change.”

Carl Rogers
"Ring the bells that still can ring.
Forget your perfect offering.
There's a crack in everything,
Thats how the light gets in."
Leonard Cohen

To be alive is to change. However, it seems that we often spend our lives alternating between trying to change only the things that are beyond our contol and futilely trying to keep things as they are under the mistaken assumption that we know and want perfection. I believe the psychotherapist's role is to help clients come into a more realistic relationship with change and the imperfect nature of the human condition, while finding meaning in their transitory lives. I work with individuals, couples, and families and because I know it's not a perfect world, I offer some evening hours.
